Spring Arbor's Hamp records 500th career strikeout
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – On the way to earning the win in game one, Spring Arbor University starting pitcher Emmalee Hamp recorded her 500th career strikeout in a 10-0 victory at the University of Saint Francis on Friday. The Cougars made it a clean sweep with a 4-0 triumph in game two with Elena Jones picking up the win in the circle.
The two wins upped SAU's winning streak to four while also winning five of its last six games.

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor made quick work of Saint Francis in game one. The Cougars pounded out 11 hits on the way to scoring 10 runs and ending the game in five innings.
- Emmalee Hamp went 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs and two runs scored. Elena Jones and Brooke Meeker collected two hits apiece.
- In addition to her outstanding day at the plate, Hamp also pitched five shutout innings on the way to earning her seventh win of the season. She allowed just four hits and struck out three batters, giving her 500 strikeouts for her career.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Spring Arbor completed the doubleheader sweep with a 4-0 shutout in game two.
- Hamp led the way for the offense going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Matajia Cerroni also had two hits and scored twice.
- Jones pitched all seven innings allowing only four hits and striking out three batters.
