Marquart Tops Field at Egypt Valley Championship

ADA, Mich. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's golf team competed in the Egypt Valley Championship hosted by Taylor University on October 7-8, led by an overall first-place finish from junior Bailey Marquart.

The Cougars golfed 54 holes at the Egypt Valley Country Club, finishing in eighth place with a total score of 1,014.

Marquart captured his first individual collegiate championship after posting round scores of 72, 79 and 75 for a three-round total of 226. Marquart's score edged out Colin Beckett from Grand Rapids Community College who finished in second place with a score of 227. 

Seth Roop tied for 23rd place with round scores of 86, 84 and 77 for a total score of 247, while Donny Dimberio finished the two-day event with a score of 265. Dylan Carvey finished with a 90-96-92 and Jackson McKee finished with a score of 288

Up next, USF men's golf will compete at the Holy Cross Saints Classic at the Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind. on October 15.
