JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league's top athletes from November 29 through December 5. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week's winners.
Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Maddie Ryman, Grace
Ryman went for a career-high 42 points in Grace's, 74-51, win at Bethel and averaged 28.0 points, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game over two outings for the Lancers. The junior guard shot 45.2 percent from the floor for the week and sank a program-record nine triples against BU.
Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Frankie Davidson, Grace
Davidson took a third-straight weekly honor from the CL, this time for scoring 35 points in an 83-69 upset win over No. 1 Saint Francis. Davidson also reached double figures in No. 13 Grace's 88-67 win at Bethel and averaged 26.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in the two victories.
Women's Bowler of the Week
Cheyenne Cottrell, Indiana Wesleyan
Cottrell led Indiana Wesleyan over the weekend, averaging a score of 162.0 over five games for the Wildcats and posting a high score of 191.
Men's Bowler of the Week
Derek Leyba, Huntington
Leyba finished fourth overall at the Motiv Warhawk Open, leading Huntington with a 203.3 scoring average and with 1,220 pins over six games.
