JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league's top athletes from January 3 through 10. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week's winners.
Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Lauren James, Taylor
James led Taylor in a pair of road wins with 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game, while shooting eight-of-17 from deep. The point guard posted 19 points and eight assists in a comeback at Bethel and netted 24 points and eight rebounds in an overtime win at Grace.
Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Kyle Kegley, Mount Vernon Nazarene
Kegley averaged 24.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game to help Mount Vernon Nazarene secure wins over Spring Arbor and Goshen. The junior dominated with 30 points, 11 rebounds and five steals in MVNU's win over Goshen, sinking 13-of-16 field goals.
