JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league's top individual performances from October 3-9. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week's winners.
Volleyball Attacker of the Week
Skyler Van Note, Marian
Van Note posted 17 kills, eight digs and two blocks to help No. 17 Marian to a sweep of Mount Vernon Nazarene. The senior collected the 17 kills in 32 swings, committing just one error for a .500 percentage.
Volleyball Defender of the Week
Molly Galaszewski, Mount Vernon Nazarene
Galaszewski repeated as the league's defensive player of the week, this time averaging 5.8 digs per set over three outings for MVNU. The senior highlighted a Cougar sweep of Lourdes with 24 digs and ended the week with 52 total digs and three service aces.
Volleyball Setter of the Week
Kacy Bragg, Taylor
Bragg helped No. 13 Taylor to a sweep of Spring Arbor with 41 assists, five digs, two blocks and two kills in the match. The senior had double-figure assists in each of the three sets for the Trojans.
Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Kailey Burrell, Grace
Burrell highlighted a 6-0 win at Huntington for No. 21 Grace, scoring of pair of goals and firing seven shots with five on frame in the road win for the Lancers.
Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Lilli Oberhoff, Grace
Oberhoff helped No. 21 Grace to a 6-0 win over Huntington. The freshman defender helped the Lancers secure a shutout, while also adding a goal to boost the offense in the victory.
Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Nate Van Keulen, Marian
Van Keulen led Marian to its first league victory of the season with one goal and one assist in a 3-2 victory at Saint Francis. The forward opened the scoring for MU with the goal and then assisted the game-winner.
Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Sam Spiegel, Taylor
Spiegel posted a shutout in the net for Taylor during a scoreless draw with Spring Arbor. The sophomore keeper posted seven stops while facing 21 total shots in the contest.
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Addi Dewey, Indiana Wesleyan
Dewey finished 33rd-of-280 racers at the Florida State Invitational, leading No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan to a 16th-place team showing. Dewey posted an individual time of 18:25 in the race.
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Eli Fullerton, Indiana Wesleyan
Fullerton was No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan's top performer at the Florida State Invitational, finishing the race in 17th overall with a time of 24:41. Fullerton's efforts helped IWU take fourth in the event, finishing ahead of LSU and Miami.
Women's Bowler of the Week
Hannah Vaughn, Mount Vernon Nazarene
Vaughn set a new Mount Vernon Nazarene scoring record with a game-four score of 243 and closed the four games with a total score of 820 to take third on the individual leaderboard.
Men's Bowler of the Week
Dylan Mollo, Marian
Mollo scored a third-place finish at Friday and a first-place showing on Saturday for Marian, posting scores of 869 and 942 to lead Marian to a fourth-place showing on Friday and a team win on Saturday.
