JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league's top individual performances from January 13 through January 19. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week's winners.
Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Alana Nelson, Spring Arbor
Nelson had a game-high 19 points in a win at Bethel, before pouring in 29 during an upset over No. 10 Saint Francis. For the week, Nelson posted 24.0 points per game on 53.6-percent shooting and added 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals per outing.
Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Lilli Frasure, Indiana Wesleyan
Frasure helped the second-ranked Wildcats to wins over Goshen and No. 17 Marian with 5.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per outing. On the offensive end, the senior guard averaged 16.5 points and 6.5 assists to fuel IWU.
Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week
Aidan Franks, Marian
Franks notched a pair of big scoring games for MU, including a 31-point outburst in the Knights' victory against RV Indiana Wesleyan. The freshman guard posted 27.5 points per game on the week, shooting 52.2 percent from the field.
Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Ian Scott, Grace
Scott and the No. 14 Lancers held RV Saint Francis and MVNU to 67.0 points per game in two victories. The senior forward came up large in those efforts, averaging 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks per game in the two wins.
Women's Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Katie Woods, Marian
Woods set a new Marian program record and automatically qualified for NAIA Nationals with a time of 2:11.47 in the 800-meters.
Women's Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Lyssi Snouffer, Mount Vernon Nazarene
Snouffer led MVNU at the Muskie Meet, winning the high jump and hitting the A-standard. Snouffer's height of 1.70 meters was best of the 22 competitors in the event.
Men's Indoor TF Track Athlete of the Week
Olivier Lifrange, Marian
Lifrange helped Marian set a new program record and post the season's fastest time in the NAIA in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:11.01. The senior also scored a win in the 60-meters and finished fourth in the 200-meters.
Men's Indoor TF Field Athlete of the Week
Josh Forbes, Taylor
Forbes turned in the third-best pole vault mark in the NAIA this season, winning the event at the Warrior Invite with a B-standard height of 4.80 meters.
Women's Bowler of the Week
Tandess O'Neal, Marian
O'Neal finished 36th individually at the ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic with 954 pins in five games. The senior helped MU to a 24th-place team finish.
Men's Bowler of the Week
Noah Blessing, Marian
Blessing helped Marian finish seventh-of-57 teams at the ISBPA Midwest Collegiate Classic, finishing 46th overall with 1,071 total pins over five games.
