Grace’s De Leon Sets Career Stolen Bases Record
HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Grace's baseball team has a new stolen bases leader after Monday.
Maximo De Leon set the all-time record for most steals during Monday's doubleheader against Huntington.
He entered the day needing two steals to top Grace's career list, and he swiped both bags in the first game of the twin bill.
De Leon now has 48 career stolen bases, surpassing the all-time mark set back in 1967 (Larry Smithwick). De Leon did his damage in less than two seasons after joining the Lancers in 2023.
The speedy outfielder is hitting .315 this year with 8 doubles, 1 triple, 4 homers, 24 RBIs and 19 stolen bases (in 21 attempts).
