
Marian Men's Bowling Dominates First Crossroads League Event of the Season
Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Marian men's bowling team dominated their first tournament of the Crossroads League season, as the varsity and jv lineups won their respective tournaments against fellow CL competition. Caden Lester of the JV program won the individual championship.
Marian bowled a 3064 score as a team during the individual games, with bowlers competing in three games on the day. The Knights followed with a score of 2467 in the baker games, totaling a 5531 as they earned their first CL victory of the year. Spring Arbor finished second, with Marian winning the tournament by 296 pins. Huntington finished third overall, and Indiana Wesleyan finished fourth in the seven-team field.
Marian's JV defeated Spring Arbor by 270 pins, scoring a total of 4972 on the day. The lineup bowled a 2782 in the individual games, and a 2190 in the baker games.
For Marian's varsity, Nickolas Archacki was the team's top bowler, as he finished second with a total of 660 pins. David Hayes finished fourth with a 655 total, Dylan Mollo finished fifth with 644 pins, and Nolan Blessing earned a 16th place finish with a 565 score. Chard Burgess finished 19th overall with 540 pins to complete the lineup. Caden Lester from Marian's top JV team finished first with a 688 score, winning comfortably by 22 pins. Matthew Watson would finish 11th overall from Marian's second JV lineup. Finishing in the top-30 from the JV lineups, including Lester and Watson, were Seth Becker, Jonah Collins, and Drayden Schanlaub.
Marian returns to action tomorrow for the second Crossroads League Tournament of the season, with the tournament also taking place in Fort Wayne.
