
Marian Men's Bowling Claims Fourth Consecutive Crossroads League Championship

Goshen, Ind. - The Marian men's bowling team continued their program's run of dominance, as the Knights won their fourth consecutive Crossroads League Regular Championship on Saturday. Additionally, the Knights won the Crossroads League Tournament.
David Hayes led Marian's individual efforts in their championship Saturday, as he finished second place overall with a score of 654 in three games played. Nolan Blessing finished third with a score of 635, joining his teammate in the top-10. Jacob Neubauer bowled in all three games and totaled 553 pins to finish 13th, while Nickolas Archacki bowled a 548, finishing 15th overall. Dylan Mollo bowled in two games and knocked down 430 pins to finish 40th, and Maxwell Berche bowled a 127 in his lone game of the day.
The Knights scored a total of 2937 during their individual games, and bowled a 2197 during baker play, ending with a final team score of 5134. Marian, who entered the day with a 100 pin lead over Spring Arbor in the Crossroads League standings, blew out the Cougars by over 200 pins, as Spring Arbor finished with a 4882 score. Marian's efforts on the day sealed their fourth consecutive regular season championship in the Crossroads League.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, the league tournament began, with Marian bowling against Spring Arbor in the four-team bracket of baker games. The Knights won 2-0 over Spring Arbor to advance to the championship, where they defeated Mount Vernon Nazarene 2-1.
Marian's two JV teams performed well on Saturday in addition to the varsity, with the top squad winning with a total of 4630 pins and the second team recording a 4349 pinfall total, good for third. Robert Stephenson was the top JV bowler with a total of 579 pins for the second lineup as he placed eighth overall, and Alex Wiles led the top team with a 548 total, finishing 14th. Trevor Lawson, Elijah Liming, Joseph Buczynski, Matthew Watson, and Nathan Danz all finished in the top-30.
Marian will compete next on February 15 and 16, as they play host in the annual Hoosier 500 at Western Bowl.
