Johnson Earns NAIA National Golfer-of-the-Week Recognition

KANSAS CITY – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Tuesday that Taylor's Javan Johnson had been selected as the NAIA Men's Golfer of the Week.

Johnson rolled to the individual title at the Ackerman-Allen Shootout on April 18, shooting scores of 66 and 72 to win the event by three shots with a 36-hole score of six-under par.

Johnson joins Nick Crabtree, Jason Hubbard, Ryan Czerniak and Noel VanderWall as the fifth Taylor student-athlete to receive weekly recognition as a NAIA Athlete of the Week during the 2022-2023 year for TU.

Johnson and No. 6 Taylor (104-5) will compete for a seventh-straight Crossroads League title when they take the course at the league championships on May 1 and 2.
