
No. 8 Indiana Wesleyan Powers Past Milligan 3-0, Moves On to Round of 16
MARION. Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan Men's Soccer powered past Milligan University, 3-0 in the 2024 NAIA National Championship Second Round. IWU came out very strong in the first half and would score first in the 5th minute. After halftime, Kyle Rinehart extended the lead to 2 for the Wildcats in the 52nd minute. IWU stopped any pressure from the Buffaloes and would seal the deal with a goal in the 75th minute by Guzman Trigo. This win advances Indiana Wesleyan to the NAIA Round of 16 in Wichita, Kansas.

WHAT HAPPENED
- Brandon Nyagurungo gave the Wildcats the lead early in the game off of an assist by Taha Houssni.
- After the half, Kyle Rinehart put in a header assisted by Giuseppe Santacroce to extend the lead to 2-0 in the 52nd minute
- Guzman Trigo put down the final strike in the 75th minute from a pass by Yarek Carnegie to give IWU the 3-0 win.
- Kadin Wolfe and the Wildcat defense played great, earning another shutout on the season.
NOTABLE NUMBERS
- 13: Nyagurungo has now scored 13 goals on the season.
- 8: It was the 8th goal of the season for number 8, Guzman Trigo.
- 1: Wolfe recorded one save on the night but he and the rest of the IWU defense played a great game in tough conditions to shutout the Buffaloes.
