AUSTIN, Texas. – The Crossroads League saw five student-athletes named as 2021-2022 CoSIDA NAIA Cross Country and Track Academic All-Americans recently. Taylor took home four of those honors, while Grace added one.
Of the five honors, three individuals earned First-Team Academic All-American nods, with Taylor's Alex Helmuth and Abbey Brennan joining Grace's Kyle Smith on the list. Taylor also added a pair of Second-Team honors with Derek Van Prooyen and Brooke Studnicki earning the honor.
The five All-American honors give the Crossroads League a total of 21 CoSIDA Academic All-American awards for the 2021-2022 year. Of those 21 awards, Taylor topped the CL with 13 honors, with Spring Arbor adding three, Indiana Wesleyan and Grace boasting two and MVNU ending with one.
CoSIDA Academic All-America honors are voted on by CoSIDA members from around the nation. To be eligible for the prestigious honor, student-athletes must be selected as First-Team Academic All-District performers, after being nominated by their institution's Sports Information Department.
