
Gentie named NAIA National Runner of the Week
HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The awards continue to roll in for HU junior Adrien Gentie after his outstanding race Friday night at Manchester University's Hokum Karem.
Not only was Gentie deemed the fastest male of the meet for running the quickest mile of the day, his 4:28 mile also proved a course record as was his compiled four-mile time of 18:37. Up against 39 other pairs, the junior teamed up with Aaron Hendryx to win the race with an overall time of 38:17.2 for a 4:47 per mile average.
The Foresters won the Hokum Karem with eight points as HU claimed the second and fifth spots as well. HU is back in action on Friday to run in IWU's Twilight Invitational.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 42 NAIA All-America honors and 316 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
