Spring Arbor captures league title
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Spring Arbor University women's bowling team made history Saturday by claiming the program's first-ever Crossroads League championship.
Spring Arbor, which entered ranked second in points in the conference standings, took second-place in Saturday's final regular season Crossroads League Tournament with 7,130 total pins. The Cougars' second place finish created a three-way tie with Huntington and Marian at the top of the standings, but SAU broke the tie by combined total pins over all four conference tournaments to claim the league crown.
Freshman Alivia Kuch was the top individual Saturday knocking down 857 pins over four games while fellow freshman Kassidy Alexander finished second overall with 842 pins. Tanneill DeJongh also landed on the All-Tournament Team grabbing fifth place with 819 pins.
By winning the Crossroads League, Spring Arbor has secured the league's automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship set for Mar. 24-26 at Five Star Lanes in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
