
Marian Tops Three Top-25 Teams at Innisbrook Invite
PALM HARBOR, Fla. - The Marian women's golf team completed their second event of the fall on Tuesday afternoon, placing seventh at the Innisbrook Invite, hosted by Dalton State. Marian finished the invite with a team score of 310+307+303=920 in their three rounds, playing 36 holes on Monday before finishing with 18 on Tuesday. Eckerd was the tournament winner in the field of 15 schools, as nine schools were ranked in the NAIA Top-25 and Eckerd is an NCAA Division II school.
The Knights were led by Ava Hedrick, who finished tied for third overall in the field of 79, shooting five over par with a total score of 218. Hedrick put together a 74 and 72 in her first two rounds, before carding a 72 in her final round. Emma Weiler was the next best finisher for Marian after she carded an 82+75+74=231 to finish in a tie for 25th.
Marian's third highest finish was behind the score of Sidney Parmer who recorded a 236 (76+80+80), while MacKendzie Dresbaugh finished the final day strong by shooting a 77 to bring her total score to a 237 (78+82+77) and finish tied for 43rd. Hailey Kirkland rounded out the Knights' lineup, as she carded an 84+80+82=246.
Marian will return to Indianapolis for their next tournament, competing in Butler's Fall Invite on October 2-3 at the Highland Country Club.
