
Lim, Garrido Finish First and Second at Sagamore Shootout
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – Shayne Lim and Margarita Garrido finished first and second to lead a pack of six Trojans in the top-10 at the Sagamore Shootout on Monday, as No. 21 Taylor rolled to its sixth team title of the season.
The Trojans took control of the tournament early by matching their lowest score of the season with a 300 in the opening round. TU's 30-shot lead grew even more over the final 18, as the Trojans posted the best score of the second round to finish at 618 and 35 shots clear of second-place No. 17 Indiana Wesleyan.
Lim secured her fourth first-place finish of the season and her third win in five spring events by posting totals of 73 and 76 to finish at 149. Garrido shot scores of 73 and 80 to finish four shots back at 153 for her third runner-up finish of the spring.
Ellie Beavins notched her second-straight top-five finish by posting scores of 80 and 77 to come in fourth, with Ellie Karst and Alyssa Schmidt finishing at 163 and in a tie for sixth.
Rounding out TU's wave of top finishers was Elizabeth Kemper, who tied for 10th with a two-round score of 168.
No. 21 Taylor will now gear up for the 2024 Crossroads League Championships on April 29 and 30 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Indiana.
