NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The 19th-ranked Taylor women's golf team closed its fall season in style on Monday and Tuesday, winning a team title for the third time in five tournaments and placing four finishers inside the top-eight on the individual leaderboard over two days at the Warren Golf Course.
Margarita Garrido led that wave of Trojans and topped the field of 54 for her third individual title of the fall. Garrido fired a tournament-best round of 74 over Monday's 18 holes to ascend to the top of the standings and finished with a 77 on Tuesday to win by one stroke at 151.
Eleanor Schuitema also shot a 74 on Monday and posted a 78 on Tuesday to end in a tie for second place, while Shayne Lim used a final-round tally of 76 to rally up to fifth in the final standings.
Rounding out TU's group of four in the top-eight was Ellie Beavins, with Hope Haarer ending in 20th.
With the strong individual performances, Taylor rolled to the team title with marks of 309 and 313 for a two-day total of 622. That gave TU a 19-shot cushion over Bethel for the top spot at the 10-team event, with Grace in third at 37 shots back of the Trojans.
No. 19 Taylor concluded the fall season with an overall head-to-head mark of 35-21, three team wins and an average finish of 5.2.
