
Benjamin Named NAIA Field Athlete of the Week
KANSAS CITY - Two days after being named the Crossroads League Field Athlete of the Week, the NAIA has named Marian track and Field's Arriana Benjamin the NAIA Field Athlete of the Week. Benjamin is the second thrower for the Knights program to earn the national honor this season joining Devin Humes from the men's team. This is the first honor in Benjamin's career.
Benjamin won both the shot put and weight throw at the IWU Midwest Classic, shattering her own record in each event. In the shot put Benjamin now holds the No. 1 mark in all of the NAIA after wiping the field at IWU with a 14.72m throw, and in the weight throw Benjamin held a 1.73m lead over the field with her 17.08m mark, now holding the No. 4 mark in the NAIA. Benjamin is the record holder in each event for Marian.

Marian will send athletes to UIndy this weekend for a final tune-up as they get set for the Crossroads League Championships.
