
Marian Women's Track and Field Bring Home CL Indoor Championship For Fourth-Consecutive Year

Upland, Ind. - The Marian women's track & field team came out victorious in the Indoor Crossroads League Championship. After an action packed day Marian extended their lead in the Women's team scores with a total score of 248 points. This is the most points ever scored by a women's team in Crossroads League Indoor Championship history. Indiana Wesleyan took home second place with a score of 101.5 and Huntington rounded out the top three with a score of 86.
Along with setting the Crossroads League record for most points multiple Knights got NAIA A Standard. Including Katie Woods in the mile and 100m and Brooke Coffman in high jump. Along with the NAIA A Standard multiple Marian athletes hit the B standard including Nina Marinkovic in the 60m hurdles, Nora Steele in the 800m, Summer Rempe in the 1000m, the 4x400m relay, and Shirmara Anderson in the triple jump.
The running events kicked off with the mile where Katie Woods finished in first (4:51.20, NAIA A Standard). In the 60m Hurdles Nina Marinkovic took home first place (8.80, NAIA B Standard) and Brooke Coffman secured eighth place. Hanna Reuter, Janae Bailey, and Emma Edwards all competed and racked up points for the Knights in the 400m. Reuter finished in thrid (59.05). Bailey and Edwards both scored in the top-7 securing 5 points combined for the Knights.
Marian had three top-5 finishers the 60m with Jovana Milosevic finishing in third (7.80), Adrianna Woods finishing in fourth (7.86), and Armoney Clay claiming fifth. The Knights then had three finish in the top-10 in the 800 with Nora Steele securing first (2:17.95, NAIA B Standard) and Gracie Fields claiming fourth (2:20.42). Adrianna Boyd also finished in the top-10 and secured sixth overall. K. Woods and Summer Rempe each took home a top-5 placement in the 1000m with K. Woods finishing in first (2:53:77, NAIA A Standard) and Rempe finishing in third (3:00.33, NAIA B Standard) while Gracynn Hinkley finished in the top-10.
Marian continued to rack up the points with Milosevic finishing in first (25.56), A. Woods finishing in second (26.03), and Bailey finishing in fourth (26.16) in the 200m. The Knights had one top-15 finisher in the 3000m with Emma Beimfohr finishing in 12th. The women wrapped up the running events with a first place finish in the 4x400m relay (4:00.33, NAIA B Standard) (Holli Reuter, A. Woods, Fields, Boyd)
Marian started out the field events with three top-5 placements in the Triple Jump with Shirmara Anderson securing first (11.50m, NAIA B Standard), Naomi Walters taking home fourth, and Holli Reuter claiming four points for the Knights. In the shot put Ozofu Magaji finished in second place (12.70m). Gabi Bilbrey finished in fifth and Hadleigh Filipovich finished in sixth. Brooke Coffman, Gina Butz, and Marinkovic finished off the field events with the high jump. Coffman finished in second (1.71m, NAIA A Standard) while Butz finished in fourth securing five points for Marian and Marinkovic finished in fifth.
The Knights are back in action as they travel to Gainesville, Fla. to compete in the NAIA Indoor National Championship starting on Feburary 27th.
